Privacy Policy for Quit Scrolling

This privacy policy applies to the Quit Scrolling mobile app (the "Application") for Android, published by Flash Software (the "Service Provider").

Quit Scrolling helps you set your own limits on how much you scroll in apps you choose. It runs entirely on your device.

Summary

Quit Scrolling does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. There is no account, no sign in, and no server. The app does not request the Android internet permission, so it is not technically able to send your information anywhere. Everything the app records stays in the app's private storage on your phone and is deleted when you uninstall it.

Use of the Accessibility Service

Quit Scrolling uses Android's AccessibilityService API. This is the only way an Android app can tell that you are scrolling in another app, and it is what makes the app's core features possible.

You are shown a disclosure screen inside the app explaining this, and you must accept it before the app will take you to Android's settings to switch the service on. Nothing is counted until you enable it yourself.

While the service is enabled:

Data gathered through the accessibility service is never shared with the Service Provider or with any third party, because it never leaves your device.

Information stored on your device

The app saves the following locally, in its own private storage, so that it can show you your own statistics:

This information is not personal data held by the Service Provider. It is not uploaded, backed up to any service operated by the Service Provider, or accessible to anyone but you.

Information the Service Provider collects

None. The Service Provider does not collect your device identifiers, your IP address, your location, your contacts, crash reports, usage analytics, or any other information from the Application.

Third party services

The Application contains no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no third party software development kits that collect data. It does not use Google Analytics, Firebase, or any comparable service.

Other permissions the app uses
Children

The Application is not directed at children under 16. Because the Service Provider collects no data at all, no personal information is knowingly or unknowingly collected from children.

Data retention and deletion

Because nothing is transmitted, the Service Provider holds no data to retain or delete. The information stored on your device remains there until you delete it. You can clear a single app's counts from inside the app, clear the app's storage in Android's settings, or uninstall Quit Scrolling, which removes everything it has saved.

Your rights

Data protection laws, including the GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act, give you rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. The Service Provider holds no personal data about you and does not sell or share any, so there is nothing to disclose or erase. If you have a question about this, you may contact the Service Provider at the address below.

Security

The information the app records is held in Android's private per app storage, which other applications cannot read. Keeping the data on your device, and never transmitting it, is the main protection this app offers.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. Any updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. If a future version of the Application ever collects or transmits data, this policy will be updated and your consent obtained before that change takes effect.

Effective date

This privacy policy is effective as of 2 August 2026.

Contact
